On October 26, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics celebrated its 90th anniversary (suggestion, since it sounds more impressive: in the stadium of its North Campus. Many public leaders and alumni were invited and attend the festivities; among the attendees: the former Finance Minister Liu Zhongli, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as the school advisor He Zuoxiu, the former Vice Minister of Education as well as the school advisor Zhou Yuanqing, the former Director of Education Department of Ministry of Finance Zhang Yutai, the Deputy Director of Department of Personnel and Education of Ministry of Finance He Zhenguo, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the NPC of Jiangxi Province Zhu Bingfa, the Vice Governor of People’s Government of Jiangxi Province Xie Ru (alumna) and Hu Youtao (alumnus), the Vice Chairman of CPPCC of Jiangxi Province Sun Jusheng (alumnus), the Vice Chairman of CPPCC of Shanghai Wang Zhixiong (alumnus), the former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the NPC of Fujian Province Ma Lusheng (alumnus), Director of Political Department of Chinese People's Armed Police Force Academy Major General Wu Songrong (alumnus), Deputy Secretary of the Council of Renmin University of China Niu Weilin, Municipal Party Secretary of Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province Gong Jianghua (alumnus), China Executive Leadership Academy, Jinggangshan Mei Liming (alumnus), Chairman of Yonyou Software Co., Ltd. Wang Wenjing (alumnus), President of China Huarong Asset Management Co., Ltd. Lai Xiaomin (alumnus), President of China Construction Bank (Asia) Co., Ltd. Mao Yumin (alumnus), President of New York Institute of Technology Edward Guiliano, President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Li Weian and President of Nanchagn Military College Huang Xinbing. The anniversary meeting was held by the Chairman of JUFE Council.
The celebration began at 9:00 AM with the playing og the National Anthem. The Vice Governor of People’s Government of Jiangxi Province Zhu Hong, on behalf of the Jiangxi Committee of the CPC and the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, warmly congratulated the staff, teachers, students and alumni of JUFE. He praised that JUFE had cultivated numerous excellent talents in financial management, which substantially contributed to the economic and social development of Jiangxi Province and the nation. He also mentioned the agreement signed among the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education in 2012 which provided for Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics establishing a platform for JUFE’s future development. He hoped that JUFE could do even better in the future and become an important cradle for excellent talents specialized in finance and economics, and serve as an important base for scientific and technological progress ,innovation and an important think tank for social and economic development of Jiangxi Province.
On behalf of all the staffs and students, Liao Jinqiu welcomed the attendees. He expressed his sincere appreciation and respect to the leaders, distinguished guests and alumni. He conveyed greetings from the Secretary of the Jiangxi Committee of the CPC Qiang Wei, the Governor of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province Lu Xinshe and the Deputy Secretary of the Jiangxi Committee of the CPC Shang Yong. He said that we would do our best to write a new chapter and create more academic achievements on the way to building JUFE into a centennial university.
Wang Qiao, on behalf of JUFE, expressed his highest respect to all the leaders, friends from all fields and retired teachers. He conveyed his best wishes to JUFE’s sister universities in and outside of Jiangxi Province and sent his , kind regards to over one hundred thousand alumni sincerely thanking all the staff and students. He reviewed the education courses and remarkable achievements of JUFE and promised to build JUFE into a high level university of finance and economics with the guidance and leadership of the Jiangxi Committee of the CPC, the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Education and with the help from all the fields of the society.
Representative of domestic universities as well as the President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Li Weian, representative of twin universities abroad as well as the President of New York College of Technology Edward Guiliano, excellent alumnus of JUFE Wang Wenjing (majored in business accounting when enrolled in 1979), representative of teachers Yang Hui (majored in industrial economics when enrolled in 1979) and representative of students Cai Jia (majors in financial management when enrolled in 2010) made a speech one after another, expressing their congratulations and best wishes to JUFE. At the end of the meeting, flowers and applause were sent to senior professors, former leaders and outstanding teachers who were invited to attend the anniversary for their great contributions to JUFE.
About 700 alumni from all over the country presented at the anniversary meeting, among which alumni enrolled in 1979, majoring in industrial economics, business accounting, trade economics, price and alumni enrolled in 1983, majoring in taxation attended the meeting in the form of class. There were all together 6000 leaders and representatives of teachers and students participated in the meeting.
The anniversary meeting lasted for about an hour and ended with the school anthem after finishing ten items.
